"I cannot begin to understand what you have been through, but I am always here for you." -Unknown Author
In this post I have created a list of statements that may be helpful for dealing with a past or present traumatic experience in your life. Finding ways to cope with difficult situations are not always easy to do, but here are some suggestions you may find helpful.

This type of healing work you do for yourself is not easy, but so worth your time and energy.
Take however much time you need in order to heal yourself, no matter how long it takes for you.
Be patient with yourself and one day, you will notice a positive shift in how you feel about yourself and your surroundings.
You will start to feel like you want to help others who have gone through a similar experience.
Your reactions are completely normal, considering the sheer magnitude of what you have been through.
Others may judge your reactions as "crazy," because they do not understand.
Don't take other's judgments about you personally.
Your healing journey will look different to many people and that is okay.
You will heal the best way that feels right for you and no one else.

You are allowed to express any and all emotions in any way you see fit, as long as it does not do any damage to yourself or others.
Do not get mad at yourself if you have an emotional reaction to a "trigger" or a traumatic memory.
Know that this is a normal experience that will lessen with time.
Do not rush for anything.
Good things take time too manifest.
When things are not rushed, you have time to think and time to relax.
There is nothing worse than rushing and feeling stressed all day because of it.
You are safe now and it is okay to let your guard down. You do not have to be hyper-vigilant anymore.
It is never selfish to take care of yourself, it is an important priority toward your self-improvement and personal wellness.
You are allowed to tell people that you need a day for yourself, in order to recuperate and remain healthy.
Find what works for you to help you in this process.
Deep-Breathing and grounding exercises may help you calm down after a bad nightmare.
Just give it a chance. if this does not help you, try something else.
Know that you do not have to endure all of this at once, pace yourself and take your time.
You are not your trauma, you are a survivor and things will get better in time.
"You can do this & you will eventually heal."
